| The first turkey I harvested in the Spring 2008 Season was shot about 100 yards behind my house. It was about 7:30 am on opening morning. He flew down with two hens and two other gobblers, one was a mature bird and other was a jake. I called one time with my Swope Mountain Box Call and here he came. The rest is history. | My son Cody and I went hunting the morning of April 19th on our farm in Garrard County Ky. The calls we used this on this hunt was a slate call from Swope Mountain Calls and a glass call from HS Strut. The bird Cody harvested as well as a jake responded constantly to the calls. We alternated using each call to keep them interested. Cody took his turkey using a Remington 870 SPST loaded with 3 inch Federal #6 shells.
